7 Impossible to Kill Hanging Basket Plants for Growing Indoors

Written by Emily Belkoff

When it comes to indoor plants, some people have a magic touch, and others… well, let’s just say we’re better at killing them than keeping them alive.

If you’re in the plant-killer club like me, I’ve got good news! After lots of tries, I found 7 hanging plants that even we can keep alive.

7 Impossible to Kill Hanging Basket Plants

1. Philodendron

This plant has been my faithful friend through many “oops, I forgot to water” moments. It’s perfect for people like me who don’t have a green thumb.

What I’ve learned about my philodendron:

  • It likes bright spots, but not direct sun
  • I only water it when the soil feels dry on top

2. Pothos

Pothos is my go-to for those tricky spots in the house. It’s super forgiving and can handle just about anything.

What’s great about pothos:

  • It has pretty heart-shaped leaves with different colors
  • It’s happy even in dark corners of my living room

3. Spider Plant

My spider plant has stuck with me through good times and bad. It’s tough, easy to care for, and adapts to pretty much anywhere.

Why I love my spider plant:

  • It’s okay if I forget about it sometimes
  • It likes bright spots but not direct sun
  • It looks amazing hanging down from a basket

4. Snake Plant (Dwarf variety)

I never thought I’d like a snake plant, but the small version won me over. It’s nearly impossible to kill and looks great in a hanging basket.

What’s awesome about my dwarf snake plant:

  • It can handle pretty much anything
  • It’s small, so it fits in tight spaces

5. Aloe Vera

My aloe vera is like the superhero of my plant family. It’s super tough and does fine even when I forget about it for a while.

Why aloe vera is so great:

  • Its thick leaves hold water, so it doesn’t need much
  • I don’t have to water it very often

6. Trailing Jade Plant

I call my trailing jade plant my “lucky charm.” It’s supposed to bring good luck, and it’s really hard to kill.

What I love about my jade plant:

  • It looks cute hanging down from a basket
  • It’s perfect for new plant parents like I used to be

7. Peperomia

Last but not least, my little peperomia. This cute plant is so easy to take care of.

Why peperomia is always in my home:

  • It doesn’t need much water or attention
  • It likes bright spots but not direct sun
  • It adds a nice touch to any room in a hanging basket
