10 BEST Good Luck Plants to TRANSFORM Your Home’s Vibe!

Written by Emily Belkoff

Looking for a way to boost the energy in your home? Good luck plants might just be the perfect solution!

These vibrant green companions not only bring warmth and coziness to any room but are also believed to attract prosperity, peace, and positive vibes.

10 BEST Good Luck Plants

1. Lucky Bamboo

I absolutely adore how this little plant brightens up my home office corner! Despite its name, it’s actually a type of Dracaena that’s styled to look like bamboo.

This was my first “good luck” plant, and let me tell you – it’s perfect for busy moms who might occasionally forget to water their plants. It thrives in medium to bright indirect light but doesn’t mind lower light conditions either.

For water care, I simply change the water weekly in my container-grown bamboo. If you prefer soil, just keep it slightly moist without overdoing it.

2. Money Tree

The Money Tree holds a special place in my heart since my grandmother gifted me one when I started my blog. Its braided trunk and lush green leaves make such a statement piece!

This beauty is considered the luckiest houseplant of all, and many believe it brings wealth and prosperity. I’ve placed mine near my workspace, rotating it weekly for even growth.

It’s quite adaptable to different light conditions, though it prefers medium to bright indirect light. I water mine when the top couple inches of soil feel dry.

3. Peace Lily

My Peace Lily sits proudly in our living room, creating such a serene atmosphere with its glossy green leaves and elegant white flowers. It’s like having a piece of tranquility right in your home!

Just a heads-up for my fellow pet parents – keep this one away from curious cats as it can be toxic if ingested. Mine thrives in bright indirect light, though it’s quite forgiving in lower light conditions.

I’ve found the key to keeping it happy is maintaining lightly moist soil without overdoing it.

4. Oxalis (Lucky Shamrock)

This charming little plant has become my go-to St. Patrick’s Day decoration! Its delicate three-lobed leaves come in the most beautiful shades of green and burgundy.

When my daughter brought home her first Oxalis from a school fair, I was amazed by how long the dainty flowers bloomed. They kept going for weeks!

Don’t panic if it seems to “die” occasionally – I learned this the hard way! It just goes dormant a few times yearly. When this happens, I simply stop watering, place it in a dark spot, and wait for new growth to appear.

5. Chrysanthemum

Last spring, I planted these beauties in our garden, and they’ve become a yearly tradition. The kids love watching them come back each season with their vibrant blooms.

If you’re giving them as gifts (which I often do for housewarming parties), they make wonderful indoor plants that bloom for several weeks. Just remember that fall planting outdoors isn’t ideal as they need time to establish roots.

I water mine when the top inch of soil feels dry, and they’ve been such low-maintenance additions to both our indoor and outdoor spaces.

6. Pilea (Chinese Money Plant)

My Pilea started as a tiny cutting from my best friend’s plant, and now I have enough to share with everyone I know! Those coin-shaped leaves are just too cute.

This plant has become our family’s symbol of sharing prosperity – every time a new baby leaf appears, my kids get excited about who we might share it with.

It’s incredibly easy to care for, making it perfect for busy families. I keep mine in bright indirect light and water when the soil feels mostly dry.

7. Jade Plant

Our Jade Plant is practically a family heirloom at this point! We’ve had it for over a decade, and it just keeps getting more beautiful with its plump, glossy leaves.

I learned the hard way to keep it away from direct sunlight after one unfortunate leaf-scorching incident. Now it sits in bright indirect light and couldn’t be happier.

The trick with this one is to resist overwatering – I check the top couple inches of soil and only water when it’s completely dry.

8. Peony

My garden pride and joy! These stunning flowers have turned our backyard into a springtime paradise, blooming magnificently for weeks with the most incredible fragrance.

After some trial and error, I discovered the secret is planting the eyes (those pink buds on the roots) just below the soil surface. They need their daily sunshine too – at least 6 hours of direct sun keeps them thriving.

Once established, they’re surprisingly drought-tolerant, which is perfect for those busy summer days when watering isn’t top of mind.

9. Hoya Heart

This sweet little plant sits on my bedside table, its single heart-shaped leaf reminding me daily of the love in our home. I received it as a Valentine’s gift from my kids last year.

It’s become my absolute favorite low-maintenance plant. I only water it every couple of weeks when the soil feels dry, and it seems to thrive on this minimal attention.

10. Lavender

The lavender by our front porch has become my natural stress reliever. Every time I brush past it, that calming fragrance just melts the day’s tensions away.

While it can be a bit challenging indoors, it thrives in our outdoor garden with full sun and well-draining soil. I planted mine in containers since we have clay soil, and they’ve been flourishing!
