27 Shocking Plants that Look like Penis (Weird Plants)

Written by Emily Belkoff

You know how people say nature is full of surprises? Well, they’re not kidding!

I’ve found 27 plants that look just like penises.

Yep, you read that right. Let’s take a look at these funny-shaped plants together.

Plants That Look Like a Penis

1. Bishop’s Heliconia

I remember the first time I saw a Bishop’s Heliconia in a tropical garden. Its brightly colored bracts, resembling bird feathers, caught my eye immediately.

But as I got closer, I couldn’t help but notice its uncanny resemblance to a certain part of the male anatomy.

2. Amorphophallus Decasilvae

This exotic plant is truly a sight to behold. With its large leaf-like structure and a central stalk topped with a cluster of small flowers, it’s hard to miss the phallic shape. It’s definitely a conversation starter in any garden!

3. Tropical Pitcher Plant

Who knew carnivorous plants could be so… suggestive? The deep pitcher-shaped leaf that traps insects bears an unmistakable resemblance to male genitalia. It’s both fascinating and slightly uncomfortable to look at.

4. Peter Pepper

I giggled like a schoolgirl when I first came across the Peter Pepper. This bright red or green chili pepper is shaped exactly like you’d expect from its name. It’s a spicy little number that adds humor to any veggie patch.

5. Common Stinkhorn

The name alone is enough to make you snicker, but the appearance of this mushroom is what really seals the deal. With its phallic-shaped cap and, ahem, aromatic qualities, it’s hard to keep a straight face when you spot one.

6. Bolivian Torch Cactus

This tall, columnar cactus with its long sharp spines is known for its particular resemblance to a penis. The large showy flowers only add to its eye-catching nature.

7. Bushman’s Pipe

Don’t let its delicate appearance fool you. This cactus, with its long narrow stem and small white flowers, is shaped suspiciously like a you-know-what.

8. Thumb Cactus

Small and round, this cactus features clusters of spines that resemble thumbs… or something else entirely. It’s a cheeky addition to any succulent collection.

9. Sonoran Desert Cactus

The Sonoran Desert is home to various cactus species characterized by thick, barrel-shaped stems and large spines. Their robust form often takes on a distinctly phallic appearance.

10. Magnolia Tree

While the magnolia’s large, showy flowers are a sight to behold, it’s the fruits containing seeds that really catch the eye. Let’s just say they’re shaped in a way that might make you blush.

11. Purple Bell Vine

This climbing vine with its drooping clusters of bell-shaped flowers is lovely, but it’s the stamens extending outwards that give it a decidedly masculine appearance.

12. Amaranthus

An annual herb with long, colorful foliage and spikes of small green flowers, the Amaranthus can sometimes take on a shape that’s hard to ignore.

13. Snapdragon

I’ve always loved snapdragons in my garden, but I’ll never look at them the same way again. Their dragon-face flowers bear an uncanny resemblance to certain male anatomy.

14. Naked Man Orchid

The name says it all. This orchid species is known for its unique flowers that look like small naked men, complete with… well, you get the idea.

15. Spiny Cushion Cactus

Round and compact, with densely packed spines covering its surface, this cactus has a peculiar shape that’s hard to miss.

16. Philodendron

The shiny, thick leaves of some philodendron species grow in a shape that’s surprisingly suggestive.

17. Tree Philodendron

This tropical plant with its large, glossy, deeply-lobed leaves is beautiful, but it’s the large white shapes encased in the leaves that really turn heads.

18. Alamanda Flower Bud

While the yellow trumpet-shaped flowers are stunning, it’s the buds with their wide, pointy heads that really make you look twice.

19. Upright Prairie Coneflower

The cone-shaped central disc of this daisy-like flower, typically orange, yellow, or brown, gives it a distinctly phallic appearance.

20. Madagascar Jasmine

This tropical vine produces fragrant star-shaped flowers in clusters. But look closely, and you might see something a bit more risqué in those blooms.

21. Costus

Found in wetland habitats, this tropical perennial’s conical-shaped flowers might make you do a double-take.

22. Acrocomia Palm Tree

This small tropical palm tree stands out with its single trunk and penis-shaped branches emerging from it.

23. Magic Mushroom (Penis Envy)

With a name like that, you know what you’re in for. Its thick white body and brown or white top leave little to the imagination.

24. Pink Lady Slipper

This orchid’s pointy head and scrotum-like bloom make for an interesting addition to any wildflower walk.

25. Lipstick Plant

The vibrant colors of this plant are eye-catching, but it’s the bright red, penis-like structure emerging from its flowers that really grabs attention.

26. Flamingo Flower

The bright pink coloration is beautiful, but it’s the extension in the middle that gives this flower its place on our list.

27. Peruvian Old Lady Cactus

Last but not least, this peculiar cactus with its body covered in white hair bears an uncanny resemblance to… well, you know.
